Voraussetzungen:
Für jeweils zehn angefangene Klassen muss eine Übungseinheit, also ein Sporthallenteil vorgesehen werden. Dies ergibt bei getrennter Betrachtung für die Gesamtschule einen Bedarf an vier Hallenteilen und für das Gymnasium von fünf Hallenteilen. Bei gemeinsamer Betrachtung müssen es in der Summe acht Hallenteile sein.
Derzeit stehen folgende Sporteinheiten den weiterführenden Schulen zur Verfügung:
- Sporthalle Corneliusfeld mit drei Hallenteilen
- Sporthalle Kirchenfeld, ein Hallenteil
- Rosentalhalle, Jahnsportanlage, zwei Hallenteile
Bei Engpässen zum Beispiel durch Reparaturarbeiten kann in Ausnahmefällen und bei der Einrichtung eines zusätzlichen Bustransfers die Rudi-Demers-Halle in Vorst an vereinzelten Stunden genutzt werden.
Insgesamt besteht derzeit ein Defizit von zwei Hallenteilen.

Die vorliegenden Entwürfe sehen für beide Schulen eine Dreifachturnhalle vor, mit weiteren Sporteinheiten auf dem Dach. Diese sind aber nicht ganzjährig nutzbar und für Schulsport mit durchgehenden festen Unterrichtszeiten organisatorisch ungeeignet. Durch den Abriss der Sporthalle Kirchenfeld und der Dreifachturnhalle Corneliusfeld erhöht sich das Defizit sogar von zwei auf drei Hallenteile. Es müsste also eine weitere Dreifachturnhalle eingeplant werden. Dies ist weder in der Kostenrechnung noch im Grundrissentwurf vorgesehen. |

Die Initiative CampCorn zieht die Möglichkeit des Baus einer weiteren Sporthalle als Kompensation zum Abriss der Sporthalle Kirchenfeld in Betracht und sieht dafür am Standort Corneliusfeld ausreichende Freiflächen. In dem Kostenvergleich zum Campus kommen die Kosten für eine weitere Sporthalle jedoch nicht vor. Zudem müsste wegen des schon jetzt bestehenden Mangels an zwei Halleneinheiten nicht nur die Kirchenfeldhalle ersetzt werden, sondern zusätzlich zur Sporthalle Corneliusfeld eine weitere Dreifachturnhalle ab dem Schuljahr 2026 zur Verfügung stehen. Ob hierfür das Freigelände am Standort Corneliusfeld hinreichend ist, wäre zu prüfen. |

Auch die Sportvereine hätten so deutlich mehr Spielraum. |
